There was a time at the end of the 20th century when there were only two television channels and to see cartoons, children had to wait until three in the afternoon on Saturday. At a time, in the eighties, when the series by Claudi Biern Boyd (Palma, 1940) were successful, adaptations of the great classics of European literature: Verne, Salgari, Dumas... Known as the Spanish Walt Disney, he became one of the great figures of world animation, presiding over the dream factory BRB Internacional and finally at the helm of Apolo Films.

In 1972, he founded BRB as a merchandising agency that represented the rights to the most popular characters of the moment, such as "The Pink Panther" (and was the inventor of the cupcake that was once called generation X) or "Tom and Jerry". Soon he began to distribute animated series such as "Pippi Longstocking", "Sandokan", "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer", "Maya the Bee", "Orzowei", "Banner and Flappy", "Vicky the Viking", “Mazinger Z” or “Bearcub Jacky”, among others, to produce his first animated series in 1980: “Ruy, el pequeño Cid”. His works "Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds", "Around the World with Willy Fog" and "David, the Gnome" began to travel around the world and have achieved the category of classics.

Unfortunately, Biern Boyd died a few weeks ago, leaving his latest animated film, “Super Bernard”, the clumsiest and comical hero in all of audiovisual history. At the helm has been the artistic director Toni Garcia, the disciple of Biern Boyd and partner in all his adventures.

Thus, the documentary "Dream Factory" studies one of the most particular phenomena that occurred in the eighties with the beginning of animation to see its evolution to the present through the history of this paradigmatic genius. And it is that always embarked on new projects, Claudi Biern Boyd had personally promoted the creation of a new company in Barcelona, ​​Apolo Films, which is at the forefront of European production and ranks with the world's leading animation studios, bringing together young creative talents in the field of 3D. And now finishing what will be his posthumous work, “Super Bernard”.
